The idea of backlighting fabric is not exactly new, but the exciting, creative effects that are emerging are certainly fresh.  Many industries have take a cue from theater and have started to pay attention to the types of fixtures, bulbs, and fabric materials combined to incorporate more versatility and drama into lit pieces.  The matte finish of many backlit textiles, helps to eliminate the glare often seen on rigid panels.  Although they are still a more expensive choice LED lights offer a low heat, very versatile and sustainable option to create dramatic lighting effects.  Another beauty of LED lighting is the versatility in size options including the new LED tape.
