Metal Sculpture in Stratford

The Stratfold Shoal in London

Shrouding an east London shopping center is a series of steel branches and titanium leaves.  Designed by Studio Egret West, this solution was installed prior to the Olympics to add a positive energy around the mall. Going on for 250 meters, the sculpture was designed to allow each “leaf” to pivot and move with the wind.

This unique sculpture offers a visual appeal that easily dresses the site.  The use of metal gives the structural support needed and subtle surface that flows with the surrounding environment.  This is a great showcase of the effect that hand-crafted contemporary metal sculpture can have in an environment.
