Beyond the White Wall

What can you do with a white wall?  Some will paint it, some will hang pictures and some may even practice making shadow puppets.  Recent technology advances are blowing these options away with their interactive capacities.

One of my favorite examples comes from a company, Snibbe Interactive, that focuses on Social Immersive Media.  With the Social Screen product that combines a projector, retro reflective screen and a white projection wall surface, participants are able to interact with virtual objects.  At the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, “You! The Experience” exhibit allows visitors to play Basketball, try Hip Hop Dancing, Tai Chi, and Yoga using little more than their bodies and a “white wall”.

To experience it yourself, check out a demonstration at : or visit the Museum.
