While gray seems to be the IT color for fall, it’s more than just a color when it comes to the fall collection by Alexander Wang. With shades of gray, this collection incorporates a myriad of textures. These textures come in the form of a multitude of textiles… Wool, fur, knit and leather, to name a few. The luxurious and elegant qualities these materials portray, even though the scale is monochrome, add interest both visually and physically. Combining textures creates a tactile connection to the fashion; A connection of warmth, comfort and sensuality.
This same idea can be taken to environments. Using textures to create a connection within a space makes for an engaging and memorable experience, whether the colors are in the same family, or opposite ends of the spectrum.
