Not since the 1950’s and ‘60s has Gingham been so dominant. As spring fashion made its debut, the runways were covered with Gingham from designers including Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenberg and Bottega Veneta. The styles ranged from fitted to full; dainty to flashy.
The personality of Gingham has often exuded a southern belle ambiance; all sunshine and roses. But, what this new season of design is showing us is the “grown up” version. The styling is sophisticated and in some cases a little dark.
Gingham can be interpreted to spatial design as well. For brands that have a classic personality, this chic pattern is a must have.
