Karina Wiciak, a polish designer, reimagined the concept of patchwork at a grand scale within this conceptual restaurant, entitled Szmaciarnia (rag-house). Grey, blue and beige materials cover the walls, floor and ceiling and are seen as well on the bar, reception desk and lampshades. As stated by the designer, “Szmaciarnia is not a tribute to the idea of recycling, but proof that the elegant interior may not just be created with popular glass or metal.”
This concept showcases how textiles can be integrated within an environment to add contrast, interest and personality.
Allison has had a lifelong interest in multiple facets of design. Growing up between a sewing machine and a sketch pad, she went on to fine-tune her skills through studies in fine arts and fashion design.
